The Tony Awards are upon us and, with Hamilton‘s historic nomination sweep, Broadway is continuing to grow even more massive and wide-reaching than ever before. Still, Hamilton comes from a long lineage of tide-changing musicals that reshape the way we see theater, hear music and learn to tell stories on-stage.
Now we have a question for you: What is the best musical of all time? Feel free to go back to the medium’s roots with shows like Show Boat or Porgy and Bess, a counter-cultural hit like Hair or Rent, a long-running show-stopper like Chicago or Phantom of the Opera or something more modern like Spring Awakening or In the Heights. Just please only vote once and for a single selection.
