The Telegraph has gained more recognition than any other news media group with 19 nominations across 12 categories in the Sports Journalism Awards.
The annual event, the Oscars of the sports journalism industry, reward the best writers, reporters and innovation in 2016.
The Telegraph’s Chief Sports Writer Paul Hayward is nominated for two awards, columnist and feature writer of the year, Deputy Football Correspondent Jeremy Wilson is also up for two gongs, football journalist and investigative sports reporter of the year, and Sports News Correspondent Ben Rumsby is shortlisted for sports news reporter and scoop of the year.
Also receiving two nominations are the Telegraph’s Investigations Team for their Football for Sale investigation which led to Sam Allardyce losing his job as England manager. The team are up for scoop of the year and investigative sports reporters of the year.
