Mollie King reveals her and dance partner AJ Pritchard look like “wedding guests” as they film Strictly – It Takes Two [Instagram ]
The former Strictly Come Dancing star appeared on the early-morning ITV chat show on Friday.
Kristina Rihanoff joined Lorraine Kelly to talk about her new dance tour Dance To The Music.
Admitting it had been a “terrible” time, the star revealed that her partner almost died after being struck down with a bug.
Kristina told Lorraine: “At the beginning of summer he got glandular fever and, as we all sometimes think, we thought it was maybe the flu.
“He was just getting really bad, day after day, and at some point he said ‘I can’t breathe, I feel like something is going on with my heart.’
“So he went to the doctors and the doctors got him to A&E right away. They said if he hadn’t come in time it could have been…very unfortunate.
Speaking about Ben’s health now, Kristina continued: “It took a lot of time to get over it.
“Anyone who’s had glandular fever it takes so much to get it out your system – and your emotional state as well.
“[Ben] was really weak for a few months and he couldn’t work out…he just wasn’t himself and I was really worried.
“We actually decided to go on a vegan diet both of us, because we felt perhaps he needed to cleanse his body and now after a month on a vegan diet he’s doing amazing.”
Kristina also revealed the effect Ben’s illness had on their one year old daughter Mila.
“It’s difficult when one parent isn’t there – especially because he’s such a hands-on dad he’s incredible,” Kristina admitted.
Lorraine continues weekdays at 8.30am.
