It was recently claimed that the former Coronation Street actor had signed up to star in the international soap, marking his return to the small screen after he quit the cobbles as Jason Grimshaw in 2016.
The reports even went as far as to claim that the soap actor was going to move Down Under for his new role.
A source claimed: “Ryan’s news may come as a bit of a surprise but people are confident he’ll make a big splash on Neighbours.
“He’ll bring his Corrie fans with him and earn a new legion of fans along the away,” the insider added to the Mirror.
However, the actor has insisted that he’s not going anywhere during an appearance on Lorraine.
Speaking about his appearance on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, host Lorraine Kelly asked him if he would follow in his brother, Adam’s footsteps and jet off to the the Australian outback.
Responding, Ryan explained that the Ant and Dec fronted show is not for him.
“I love I’m a celebrity, but for me this was the only one that I wanted to do because with this one there is no winner, you’re not competing with anyone else and you’re not being voted out,” Ryan said of his reason for appearing on the Channel 4 show.
“It doesn’t change who you are to win the competition because you’re just learning to survive and I love Bear Grylls. Anything he puts his name to, the fact that I get to be a part of that is incredible.”
As Lorraine clarified that Ryan was dismissing the rumours about the jungle based show, she also mentioned the claims that he was heading to Ramsey Street.
Confirming that it was all rumours, Ryan joked: “I keep getting this all time time, the jungle, Neighbours..”
During his interview on the ITV daytime show, the actor also expressed how much he misses his friends on Coronation Street.
After his first scene played out on the screen behind them, Ryan revealed: “Coronation Street has been a massive part of my life for 16 years and I miss it.”
“They’re family,” he added as a scene featuring his on screen mum Sue Cleaver, who plays the role of Eileen Grimshaw, played out.
Lorraine continues, weekdays on ITV from 8.30am.
